Finishing up the HUD, then it’s time for combat! You can place a bookmark on the skills that you want (choosing up to 2 skills for a given round of combat), and placing the white bookmark with the check mark will confirm your choices.

I’m now working on boring technical stuff, like the HUD and menus. It took me a hilariously long time to come up with a design I liked for those simple little health bars! Anyway, a ton of stuff in this image (background, flames, little demon guy, ground) is temporary/filler art, so ignore its sloppiness!
As always, we are close to finishing this game. But this time for real! Also this is iPhone 6 resolution, in case anyone was wondering. But don’t worry, the game will be available for other devices too!
The more of my gamedev stuff you see, the more you’ll notice that my entire design process is mainly just coming up with fun new ways to avoid drawing environmental art.
Today is a special day: I am posting 2 things!! Here is a screenshot of the game that admungdev and I are currently working on. It’s coming along nicely!
Here is a mockup showing off a few new effects I made recently, such as blocking, getting hit, movement, etc. admungdev has also coded some awesome things recently (he can report about that himself, it’s pretty cool)!
The game is coming along very well, and once winter break finally rolls around progress should really pick up!
*EDIT: It seems like tumblr has screwed up pixel art gifs once again. Clicking it to view it makes it look okay though. My art is not terrible I swear!
Oh my sweet lord, this shit took FOREVER to get working!!! But it is working now!! So after you beat your opponent, you get the option of swapping some (or all) of your weapons with theirs. This is the screen where that happens!
I’ve finally got the rewards screen working! It took an incredibly long time, mostly because I stopped to redesign the battle HUD (that’s the book that pops up) halfway through the process. Anyway, it’s working pretty nicely! It could still use a few small tweaks but I’m pretty happy with it!
